Added a tooled leather stripe to a felt iPad case I made.
Small pouch. Vegetable tanned leather & white wool felt. Featuring waxed thread and stamp.
Forgot to upload this little coin pocket.
Black leather from Decocuir, vegetable tanned, saddle stiched with waxed thread. In the last picture the leather is showing the reflection of the sunset.
A gift for my brother on his birthday. IPad Air case, wet-formed, full grain 0.7-1.00 mm vegetable tanned leather. Hand saddle-stich with a waxed black thread. Also featuring a hand dyed strap with a brass snap that goes around the case and is secured through a slot on the back, to keep the iPad in place.
First attempt at wet-forming. This little guy performs admirably, real simple travel mug or container.
You can also get a glimpse at mi work mat and “tooling station” (okay, so it’s a 9,99€ stool from IKEA, it’s the best I can do right now and it does it’s job pretty well, so back off)
Cheers
Made this luggage tag as a present for my girlfriend. Reads “traveling nowhere and everywhere
Brass eyelet on hand-tooled natural vegtan leather.
7&19. Leather pieces I currently have
I don’t know if the uneven edge skiving on the top pic is intentional (it does look nicely ‘rustic’) but I found that when skiving thin leather placing it on the edge of a work mat or another piece of scrap so as to effectively double it’s thickness led to a more even finish.
Hi yeomans!
Thanks for the reblog, I’d love to say it was intentional, or even that the leather was thin (it was 3mm). Truth being that it was only my first time using the edge skiver and I had no technique whatsoever. Thanks for the tip for the thinner leathers!
